Alternative Definition

The concept of “Alternative” deals with virtually every aspect of our daily life, from the superficial to the sublime, including the very foundation of our being. Alternative is the "other path" - off the beaten track and often more rewarding.

Alternative culture comes with a variety of subcultures on the fringes of the mainstream.

The unique thing about these subcultures is that they draw other cultures towards a progressive course, bringing to our modern lives new methods and codes of lifestyle, or reviving old ways of living and integrating them into the modern world.

Alternative can be anything from a product with natural organic ingredients (such as herbal toothpaste), a treatment that employs natural processes (e.g. using hypnotherapy to help PTSD patients), or a process that is environmentally friendly (construction of “green” buildings using natural energy resources and materials).

Just as using Eco-Human Friendly products supports the preservation of the natural resources of the planet, leading an alternative lifestyle promotes human well-being.

Eco-Human Friendly Products

Eco-Human Friendly Products are those that are friendly to the user and to the environment. Potentially, every product that you can think of in the open market can be made using positive solutions, rather than what, unfortunately, became mainstream solutions.

For example: organic or natural cosmetics, clothes, and food; earth-friendly paint and cleaning products; products that are made from recycled materials and with the use of renewable energy sources; natural medicines; hand made products, and so many more.

We have created a short webinar about what Sustainable Products are, which can be found on our community's blogosphere website, AltGlobe Blogs.

To upload and sell a product on AltGlobe, it must comply with at least two of the following Eco-Human Friendly factors:
Reused - A product who's owner wish not to use it anymore and is good enough to be sold and used again.
Recycled - Made of ingredients that used to be something else than what they compound together now.
Fair Trade - Products that are made by private producers in developing countries.
Handmade - Made by humans and not by machines.
Bio Degradable - Products that will decompose into their natural compounds.
Energy Efficient - Products that generate less energy (or none) than their equivalent main stream solutions.
Sold by its owner - Only Product Owners (Sellers) can sell their items on AltGlobe. No big corporations, nor resellers.
Percent Donation - Product that its Seller donates percentage from the sale to Eco-Human Friendly cause.
Natural Ingredients
-
Product with ingredients extracted directly from natural sources as opposed to being produced synthetically.
Organic
Ingredients- Products that grow in environment free from pesticides and fertilizers and are not processed with any artificial ingredients.
