roseanne Profile
I live, practice yoga, write & love life in Montréal, Quebec. The intention behind my blog, it’s all yoga, baby, is to question, provoke thought and shine a critical light on yoga culture ~ but also to celebrate community, service, creativity, the independent spirit and good ol’ fun. I’m fascinated by how yoga is represented in popular culture, and I’m unabashedly anti-consumerist and highly skeptical of the increasing commercialization of yoga in the West. I’m also interested in other things such as burlesque, knitting, roller derby, sex, top 40 music, cats and grammar, and I’m likely to write about any and all of these subjects on my blog. As the former editor of ascent magazine, I’m not afraid to use my media literacy skills to call out the hypocrisies and contradictions of modern yoga. I’m also a yoga teacher who believes in making yoga accessible, fun and available to all people, regardless of socio-economic status or body type.
creating engaged conversation about yoga and spiritual practice. By examining how we live our practices, we increase our sensitivity to the world around us and are reminded of how connected we all are. How do you live your yoga? How do you live your life?
